Sheepshead Recreation Area

Sheepshead Recreation Area is an expanse of grassy meadows and sagebrush, with several streams and a small lake all surrounded by lodgepole pine forest. The receation area includes pavilions, picnic tables, barbecue grills, horseshoes, a fishing pier, nature trail, a volleyball court, ball fields, and paved trails.

Travel 8 miles north of Butte off Interstate 15, take Elk Park exit and drive west 13 miles on Forest Service Road 442. The area can be reserved by calling Butte Ranger District.
