At Backwoods Bunkhouse Vacation Rental, we strive to give you the experience you want. This two story home is located ten miles off I-90 on dirt road and is just fifteen miles northwest of Butte, Montana. Completely surrounded by natural forest, we also offer the newest technologies.
Settled on a working cattle and sheep ranch, this home offers a great getaway from the pressures of work and the city. Surrounded by Deer Lodge National Forest with Browns Gulch creek just across the dirt road, there are unlimited outdoor activities just out the backdoor.
The home itself has five bedrooms, three baths, and office and totals 2,320 square feet with a full-kitchen including all appliances, dishes, etc, a living room both upstairs and downstairs with satellite TV and a full laundry room upstairs. There are two stories: the upper has 1303 square feet, three bedroom and two bathrooms. The lower level is 1017 square feet and also has three bedrooms and one bathroom. Both levels have separate exits as well. The master bedroom has a patio door leading to a surround deck that spans the front of the house and the master bedroom has a claw foot tub and walk-in shower. A panoramic view can be seen from both the living room and mater bedroom. There is a also a fire pit located behind the home.
Hiking, walking, four-wheel riding, fishing and many other activities are available without ever have to leave the ranch. Browns Gulch Creek offers a great opportunity for kids or kids at heart go fishing for brook trout. While hiking, walking, four-wheeling on our many trails or simply relaxing on the deck, wildlife of different sorts can be seen. Elk, deer, wild turkeys, moose, beaver and many other species reside in this area.
In the winter, we offer groomed trails for snowmobiling, and hills for snow showing and sledding.
Located just 15 miles northwest of the historic mining city Butte, you are bound to find something to your liking. As one of largest historical districts in the country, sites such as the Copper King Mansion, Berkeley Pit, Granite Mountain Memorial, Mining Museum located at Montana Tech and many other historical landmarks. Surrounding sites also include Georgetown Lake, Highland Mountains, the Lady of the Rockies, Fairmont Hot Springs, and many other beautiful sights. You can also take a ride on the Copper King Express or play a round of golf at he Old Works Golf Course designed by Jack Nickalaus in Anaconda. The area also offers swimming at Fairmont Hot Springs, just 30 minutes away, as well as fishing and rafting on the Big Hole River.
