2009 New Year Parade
The parade begins at the Butte-Silver Bow Courthouse (155 W. Granite St.) at 3 pm and proceeds through the streets of Uptown Butte accompanied by noisemakers and firecreackers, led by Montana's parade dragon (the dragon was a gift to the people of Montana from the people of Taipei) to the Mai Wah Museum at 17 W. Mercury Street.
There, the lighting of more than 10,000 firecrackers will welcome the arrival of the New Year while parade goers enjoy refreshments provided by the Mai Wah Society.
